Change Control & Governance

Defines the change control process and decision-making authority. Supports formal change management.

AI in this module

How AI suggestions work

Click "Get AI Suggestions" to draft or improve the Governance Process and Change Log together in one pass, grounded in the DRP's other content and any AI Knowledgebase documents. Suggestions appear as one card per field, each with its own "Apply" button (or "Apply all").

The AI will not invent change history — if no changes are established anywhere in the DRP's content, expect the Change Log suggestion to come back empty rather than fabricated.

Quality checks

What "Check Quality" looks for here

No invented change history. Flags a Change Log entry that isn't genuinely evidenced elsewhere in the DRP.

Real governance authority. Flags a process description too generic to actually guide a future change request.

What it captures

The process and decision-making authority for handling changes to this DRP once it's been approved, plus a running change log.

Using this module

This module has two parts: a Governance Process narrative — who can request a change, who approves it, and how it's recorded — and a Change Log table of actual changes as they happen, with a Change ID, Description, Requested By, Date, and Status (Proposed/Approved/Rejected/Implemented) per row.

  1. 1Write the Governance Process once, early — see the tip below on why.
  2. 2Add a Change Log row only for a real, actual change request — leave it empty rather than inventing history that hasn't happened.
  3. 3Keep Status current as a change request moves through the process — a Change Log stuck on "Proposed" long after a change actually happened is as misleading as no log at all.

Review and approval

Reviewed as a whole — the governance narrative and the Change Log together, in one sign-off. Once submitted it is read-only; to change it, press "Reopen to edit", which cancels the round and returns it to In progress.

This DRP's Review Assignments tab shows the module as one row, like any other, with its own review level, reviewers and approver — inherited from the project until you change them here.

Tips

  • "Export CSV", at the top of the page, downloads this table as a spreadsheet file — handy for sharing it with someone who works in Excel.
  • Set this up early — it's much easier to agree a change process before the first change request arrives than during one.
